Why Everyone’s an Empath?

What do I mean when I state, “everyone is an empath?” Well let’s start with the dictionary interpretation of what an empath is; the ability to understand the experiences and feelings of others outside of your own perspective. Often, we know the basic term Empath and when we create a picture in our mind about what an empath looks like, that image tends to be overly emotional, dramatic, with feelings of being misunderstood. However, most tend to keep their feelings to themselves, lean towards introversion, and often will not attend events where there are large groups of people. Empaths Feel Beauty more than the average person

Imagine that each emotion has a sound and lets say there are a thousand different types of emotions. An emotionally impacted empath can walk into a large group of people and feel those thousands of emotions, like an orchestra warming up before the concert. Its literally too much to handle in the best of situations. I have two very empathic adult children who check out the groups before attending an event with their feelings first. If the emotional frequency is discordant then they will not attend the event and its not personal. If it is mandatory like a wedding of a friend, then they will measure the amount of time they can emotionally spend before they must leave the wedding. Often empaths can go to either the wedding or the reception but not both because feeling so much results in an exhaustion that can take days to recover from. Then add everyone drinking alcohol at the event and that adds a whole other level of emotional exhaustion. As a visually dominant intuitive, my children have taught me a lot about emotional empath qualities.


Why would anyone wish to be an empath if it is so emotionally challenging? Well for starters, there are incredible wonderful feelings to feel as well. For the emotional empath, food taste better, intimacy feels more electric, love is an elixir from which poets, musicians, writers can produce their best work, and they can deeply feel the active beauty of nature. What I have noticed over the years tuning into the energy fields of deep empaths is many times, they must really slow the pace of their life down, minimize social noise, will remain quiet at work, so they do not feel the office dramas, and can feel the thousands of years of deep grief in the earth. As a clairvoyant dominant intuitive, I can see the emotion in the aura of another person, but I cannot feel it. This has its own drawbacks when attempting to appear normal when there is a psychedelic light show going on in front of me. But in the year 2000, I was working with an extreme emotional empath, when spirit came through strongly with a message; The Empaths will rule the world in the future. This message has never left me in 23 years, and over time I have begun to see what that message is about.

More and more of our world population is rising in their empathic sensitivities. Emotional empathy is such a beautiful gift to have and yet when your emotional chakra is thick with pain, it can feel challenging to experience the beauty in anything. Everyone is an empath but not everyone is debilitated by their empathic sensitivities. There are many types of empath which I will list here. Our world is in the process of emotionally maturing and this alone deserves a standing ovation. When everyone begins to feel the suffering in the world, is when humanity will begin to do something about it.
What is an empath and what is the difference between an emotional empath and an energy empath?
An Emotional Empath can feel other emotions. Just because someone can feel what someone else is feeling does NOT mean that they can feel what they are feeling. If an empath can feel other emotions and not their own it means their emotional sensors are externally focused. An energy empath can sense when the energy is off with an individual but my not be able to identify why.


Learning to turn your sensors inwards requires feeling safe enough to turn your sensors off someone else’s emotions. As a child you may have learned to sense the emotions of the parents to know how you should respond. Or Your parents were also highly emotional and communicated everything through feelings. Purchasing soft clothing, touching a lot, asking you how you feel all the time and having sad or angry outburst to clear the energy field. Most addictions come out of being an empath to numb or enhance blocked emotions that you need to express. As the founder of Soul Seeds our non profit to teach intuitive meditation to unhoused teenagers and young adults, I have learned that 100% of them are extreme emotionally sensitive empaths. Sit with that thought for just a moment and allow yourself to ponder that truth. These emotionally sensitive children who grow into sensitive teens and young adults find it a struggle to live in their harsh family environments. Often they did not learn from the adults around them to manage their emotions. Other times, they take drugs as a way to manage their feelings which truthfully is like adding gasoline to a grassfire. An Energy Empath can feel the frequency of energy waves of others.
Most individuals are either an emotional or energy empath. An energy empath can be more clinical like a scientist, physics, frequency identifiers. The room they are in might feel heavy or light, thick or thin, stuck or flowing, but an energy empath most often does not know what that energy is. The frequency can shoot around the room like a lightening storm. Confusion, mixed messages, throwing energy can all be picked up by the energy empath. You may find yourself saying something like that person is dangerous. While others think you are crazy. Only to have the person who appeared delightful on the outside but an energetic bully on the inside, finally show their true colors. Then everyone looks at you and says, how did you know? Because you are an energy empath and could feel the true vibe of the person.


Emotional Empaths are the most common – You have the ability to feel what someone else is emotionally feeling. They may be smiling, but you feel their sadness, they may appear calm, but you feel their rage. They may be laughing and making jokes, but you feel their intense anxiety.


Physical Empath – can pick up on someone else body illnesses such as headaches, back aches, joint pain, or even unknown illnesses. Once, I felt intense cramping in my right groin when standing next to another individual. I stepped outside and it was gone. I came back in and stood next to the person again and the cramping returned. Later the person had to have surgery for a tumor growth in the right groin. Physical Empaths make an excellent medical intuitive.


Intuitive Empath – Has extremely strong ‘intuitive knowing’ and can just look at someone or stand next to them and become downloaded, with a full story of who they are. This can be tricky because you simply start up a conversation and the person wonders how you knew about their life when you have never met. It can really freak people out. Knowing this ahead of time, you measure your conversation until you know them a bit more.


Plants and Nature Empath – Are intimately connected to nature and can feel how nature is doing. Often you will feel more at home out in nature. Your houseplants are your babies and you describe them as having different personalities. This type of empath can feel when house plants need water, need sunlight or even feel if plants like to be near certain plants. In nature, knows when the trees and plants are thriving or in distress.

Plant and nature empaths can feel the personality of plants and their care needs.


Animal Empaths – are connected strongly to animals. Animals are dominant emotional communicators. Therefore animal empaths love animals because animals feel too! You can tell exactly what the animal is feeling, when they are hungry, thirsty, and what their needs are. Animal empaths are great shapeshifters, when mirroring animal emotions. A shapeshifter is someone who can embody and mimic the qualities of animals/birds/reptiles. Animal empaths might know what the animal is feeling but do not recognize the emotions of the humans in the house.


Earth Empaths – Can feel when a natural disaster is going to happen, and often can feel how severe it is going to be. Tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, fires and ice or snow storms all fit into the realm of an earth empaths sensitivities. I know someone who stays connected to a world earthquake app so every time they know an earthquake just happened they can check the app to see where it is located. They have become so good at this, they can even tell how small or big it is, without it even being on the news yet. Another friend is great at knowing how devasting a hurricane is going to be. The news can say it is going to be a category 5 with life threatening winds and my friend will say, no, it will shift down to a category 2 before landfall, it will be fine. Sure enough, that is exactly what happens. Are you sensitive to earth changes?


Cosmic Empaths – Can feel planetary movements, star systems, galaxies, constellations and the personalities expressed by each planet, moon, sun or star. Cosmic empaths will often feel solar flares long before it is reported in the news. Cosmic Empaths are very sensitive to the Coronal Mass Ejections from the sun and can feel how big and how potent the impact will be on the earth. So when she reports to get ready for the energy shock wave, I listen.

What if you are numb and feel nothing? Your body is always registering feelings even if you are not attuned to feeling them. Numbness is a coping mechanism and with meditation you can begin to thaw those frozen places within you. With extreme numbness and lack of emotions and feelings, you may speak to a professional to talk out where you may be blocking your emotions and why.


There are many things you can do to manage your empathic second chakra abilities but not all of them are healthy ways of managing. Meditation is the key to learning how to manage your emotions, your aura and your chakras for quick release of empathic overwhelm.

  1. Always begin with grounding yourself first, to fine tune your emotional expression. So that your emotions are not all over the place. If you are feeling emotional, overwhelmed, grounding helps drain the over filling emotions in your aura.
  2. Pulling your Auric field in to within a couple of feet from your body. When your aura is expanded twenty feet from your body, you can feel everyone’s emotions within that 20 feet range.
  3. Moving your consciousness to the 6th chakra. Take the Elevator to the top. Move your consciousness behind your eyes in your head, so you are further away from your emotions. Like a marshmallow on a roasting stick. If the marshmallow is in the fire, it burns up rapidly. If the marshmallow is away from the intensity of the fire, the emotions, you get a nice soft glow of golden brown. If your consciousness in in your second chakra, it is just too far intense. Moving up to the 6th chakra, you still get the feelings, but they are slower to tip into overwhelm.
  4. Close your 2nd chakra down! Your clairsentient chakra located just below the navel area in the lower belly. The larger it is open the more you can feel of the outside world. The more closed down it is, the less you feel of the outside world.
